The Indigenous Batwa people in South western Uganda are facing increased discrimination and lack of access to quality health care services especially Women’s Sexual and Reproductive Health services.
Every 8th of March the world marks International Women’s Day, a day to celebrate the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to collective action and shared ownership for driving gender parity.
GWEFODE is pleased to inform its stakeholders that it is one of the Civil Society Organizations approved by the Electoral Commission to conduct voter Education and observe all the activities related to the 2020/21 General elections.
The operations manager of GWEFODE has condemned the endemic violence against women and girls in South western Uganda. While addressing beneficiaries and local leaders in Rubanda district, Mr Orikiriza Donantus expressed disappointment at the level in which women and young girls are being physically and sexually assaulted through rape, defilement and murder.
